Shizukesa: [60] - Sasuke's Sunrise
The moon was just as prevalent as it always was in this village. Sasuke sat alone a sandy rooftop, a pure black silhouette on the pale surface of the massive moon. Screams echoed silently in his head as he lifted a hand in front of his face, examining his palm with feigned interest. With a sigh, he began clasping and unclasping his fingers together in complex, rapid succession. Drawing out a length of bandage from the spool he'd borrowed from Sakura, he wrapped his forearm tightly and placed two fingers on the base of his wrist. Black shapes began to ripple out from his fingertips, spreading down the fabric like blotches of ink. Spinning his

Sasuke descended from the sky like a meteor, landing with a disproportionately soft thud on the grass between Sakura and Kakashi. Karin was cradled like a sleeping infant in his arms, and his face wore all of the exhaustion of a sleep-deprived parent.
“What happened?” Kakashi spoke up, his breathing just as heavy.
Sasuke began to speak, but was cut of by Sakura's gasp.
She clasped her hands to her mouth as she watched Chiyo fall into Naruto's arms. Gaara began to stir slowly, his eyes sliding open like a grand set of doors. Naruto lit up like an oil lamp, suddenly grinning.
A groan escaped from the kazekage's cold chest, and t

Claws whistled through the air near Deidara's face, skimming the skin with rushing air. Naruto shot by, having missed his target, and slammed his hands and feet onto rough stone, sending small chunks of fragmented rock spewing out from the points of impact. Pumping chakra violently to his feet, he burst back into the air, taking on the appearance of an orange blur. Against the camouflage of the forest, he stood out like a fireball in the dark of twilight.
Kakashi's mangekyou pulsed with pain as if he'd been stabbed. He felt his body fighting him as he tried to draw a second use of its dimensional powers, but with all of his ANBU dedication t

Sasori's face of confusion was met with a cheeky grin by the pink haired medic.
“Uchiha...?” he questioned silkily, glaring at the destroyer of his prized puppet. A hundred feet of hand-sized stone fragments stuck up out of a black sea of iron sand before him.
“Not yet.” Sakura sassed, straightening herself to stand at her full height and cracking her knuckles.
The red haired child narrowed his eyes and ruffled his hands in a blur of motion. The clouded black Akatsuki cloak fell away, revealing a hollow stomach filled with some kind of metal coil and a pair of wing-like structures with blades instead of feathers.

Sakura's fist reduced the boulder into dust. Naruto and Chiyo sprang to her sides, Kakashi running ahead and gesturing for them to follow.
Beyond the gaping entrance lay an unnatural darkness. No sunlight penetrated what seemed to be a sphere of solid black. Pinpricks of brilliant blue were visible as if from an impossible distance, dancing and swirling around a central cluster of dull illumination.
Then a deep voice spoke, and the whole sight vanished.

Sasuke fastened the wireless radio around his neck, blatantly ignoring Naruto's ranting and raving about shadow clones. Kakashi wore one, and Sakura handed hers to Karin, who opened her eyes promptly as if on cue.
“Found them.”
“I'll take the clones first since I only have one radio. Tell me where to go.” Sasuke grunted. The three of him vaulted off, leaving Naruto shaking his fist.
“Okay, turn left in 200 meters...” Karin's sprang in the opposite direction, her voice fading quickly.

Blood trickled out of Itachi's mouth, which had twisted into a patented Uchiha smirk. Standing above his brother, Sasuke narrowed his eyes. His charcoal hair blew over his face, and he waited for the imitation of Itachi to die.
“You still... don't have... the same eyes...” Itachi's chest rose and fell haphazardly, responding to the absence of a heart and laceration of lungs.
With that, his body shuddered and stilled. Sasuke's eyes grew wide as Itachi's features dissolved, leaving behind a completely different, unfamiliar person.

Shizukesa - A SasuSaku Fanfiction: [0] - Prologue
The silvered moon hung low in the silent air above Konoha, and its raven haired prodigy stood alone, as he always did at night, glaring out over a small duck pond that reflected the busy skyline of the sleeping city. His gaze swept over the tranquil water, drinking in the reflection of his reddened eyes, blazing a fiery trail of wandering thoughts on the water’s surface.
“Sasuke?”
A voice interrupted his melancholy reverie, floating across the mirror’s edge of the still water, and he slowly turned his head towards the source of the sound, a slender girl with pink hair and a red dress.
